Note: at the beginning of July 2013, I went for a holiday with my parents, brother and sister. We braved Asia for the first time, explored but did it all in -more or less- style. The age of the group varied between 48 and 17.
Our last real evening here. Weird feeling.
This morning we woke up to a beautiful blue sky. The rain had departed for an hour or four and we made the most of what sun we could grab. Bounty beaches were taken advantage of, the last pool towels were claimed and luggage was once again packed. The boat would leave around 10.30 AM, so we were there at 10 AM as ordered. The boat arrived at the island around 12 AM. Island difference, probably 😉
The boat ride itself was pretty smooth: no muss, no fuss. After about two hours we arrived back in Padangbay where we met our guide with lots of enthusiasm. He brought us to our hotel in Jimbaran where the parents left for another monkey temple (with apparently rather agressive monkeys, so the children decided not to join them) and the children decided to watch the final sunset from the beach. And, let me just say, this was what they mean by Bounty Beaches. The water was just about the only thing not cooperating (not really blue and see-through), but the sand was wonderful, the sun shone brightly (for about half an hour) and there was lots of space.
Afterwards, we decided to spend our last night here on the beach as well. Parents were dragged off to the restaurants, fish was chosen from the display and the end result… was not quite what we expected. But we survived and have now another tale to tell. Could be worse!
Tomorrow, it’ll be the final packing, the final shopping and swimming and again lots of hours to be spent on the plane. God help us all.
